So you want to build QuickSeries custom apps for your business?
Great idea! But do you know how to do it?
Don’t worry, if you are a little lost in this world—and who isn’t, really?—you just have to follow these simple, but important, steps:
STEP 1: Set Goals
Every venture begins by first knowing where you want to go. You can’t have direction, after all, without a destination. Formulate a big picture goal and then work backwards, shrinking your foresight down into smaller increments and shorter time lines. Establish a few milestones, perhaps, to help meet smaller goals and progress towards the larger ones.
STEP 2: Do Adequate Research
Knowing what you want and how you plan to get it is one thing, but you also need to understand the landscape where you will be doing the work. Make sure you do enough research in the market of your industry so that whatever tasks you commit to, are focused solely on moving forward in the market, along with—and hopefully surpassing—your competitors.
STEP 3: Define Your Value Proposition
While you are conducting your research you will get a better feel for how other companies have defined their value in the market. You must do the same before you take your product or service to the public; otherwise you may not have effective monetization.
STEP 4: Choose a Business Model
Speaking of monetization, you need to choose a business model that will focus on how your app makes money. Data shows that approximately 90 percent of all app revenue is a result of in-app purchases (often a free app with additional content). Would you prefer to have a free version and a pay version of your app? Will you utilize advertising options?
STEP 5: Establish a Budget
Once you know what your earnings potential is you can indulge capitalization options. Indeed, you need to now begin to establish exactly how much you are willing to spend and how much you are able to spend—which are often not the same value. By knowing how quickly you can expect a return can affect how much you invest at the beginning.
STEP 6: Assemble Your Team
You have a plan and a budget. Now you need a team to execute it.
STEP 7: Marketing your Company
Marketing/advertising can be expensive, but you don’t want to do these prematurely. Of course, without market visibility you can’t convert anything you have invested into actual sales dollars.
STEP 8: Maintenance
Finally, you need to make sure that you regularly maintain the app and its associate web portals. You are not only looking for bugs in the app itself, but you also want to make sure you stay aligned with technology upgrades that might happen along the way.
